Eldar Ganeev was born in Krasnodar and studied at the Kuban State Technological University. Since 2009, he has been a member of the Artists Trade Union of Russia. From 2009 to 2017, he was a member of the ZIP group, where he received the Kandinsky Prize (2017). He is engaged in installation, photography, painting, graphics, as well as electronic music. BIC continues Eldar Ganeev’s hyper-realistic series — detailed images of iconic consumption objects. The “hyper” prefix is not random: these objects are not just composed realistically, they are more than reality itself: super-real, like the legendary orange lighter, as if pulled out of the darkness of everyday life. The hyperreal object is always an object of cult, worship and, of course, a symbol of the age of infinite consumption, where it is customary to worship things, giving them something divine.
